Let's imagine you have decided to invite me on your special journey with you. What can you expect from me?
In pregnancy
For your birth
I can loan you a birth pool and supplies if you wish if you are planning a home birth
- I will usually meet you and your partner a minimum of three times for a couple of hours each time in your pregnancy to get to know you and learn of your birth wishes
- I can loan you resources and books to inform and make your journey more peaceful and knowledgeable
- I can offer you an Active Birth session - with massage, movement, positions, visualisations etc
- I will offer you a Talking Mats session, before and after your birth (I am an accredited trainer)
- I will be available to chat on the phone throughout your pregnancy should you wish to
- I can loan you a birth pool and equipment if you'd like to use one at home
- I can offer you a session to reflect on previous births and will deeply listen to your experience
For your birth
I can loan you a birth pool and supplies if you wish if you are planning a home birth
- I will be on call for you from 38-42 weeks pregnant. If you have your baby before or after these dates, I will do my best to be there
- I will stay with you and your partner throughout the course of your entire labour and birth, taking mini naps if needed
- I will hold the space for you to birth in, leaving you calm, safe and confident
- I can help to physically support and massage you
- I will support your partner to participate fully in the birth of your baby, making sure they eat and drink, and take occasional breaks
- I will provide nurturing support and nourishment for you both
- I am confident and comfortable supporting you with hypnobirthing
- I will believe in you
- I will, if needed, offer suggestions on positioning, breathing and options to make your birth more enjoyable and comfortable
- I will give space when privacy is needed
- I will advocate on your behalf if required, gently and respectfully communicating with others.
- I will mostly knit quietly and not interfere with you and your partner birthing beautifully together, unless of course, I am needed
- If you would like, (having been a photographer in the past) I can unobtrusively take some photographs of your baby's first moments with you

After your baby is born, I will visit a minimum of two or three times to offer any support needed, such as bringing a family meal, reflecting on your birth, breastfeeding support and massage. Ongoing postnatal doula work can sometimes be arranged (at a further cost) according to availability.

What else do I offer?
Mother blessings Pregnancy is a time when a woman ought to be acknowledged, adored and nurtured. A Blessingway (or Mother Blessing) is an opportunity to gather the support of your women friends to celebrate you becoming a mother and to acknowledge the amazing and strong woman you are, having grown your baby to fullness. I am very comfortable organising your blessingway with you and hosting it so that you may feel the circle of women in your life surrounding you in love and support. This can be offered as part of your Mamadoula birth support, or can be arranged separately at a cost of £70.
Belly casts A lovely way to acknowledge the power and size of your baby's home inside you is to make a modrock cast of your bump. Women are often amazed when the cast is taken off and they have a chance to see how truly magnificent their size and shape is! Some chose to paint these afterwards and adorn them with jewellery once they are hung. I can come and offer this independently of any doula services at a cost of £60. You partner may also be involved in making it.
